Egg-Crate Topper
Every single mattress we make is topped with a convoluted, or “egg-crate” top layer. This is designed to provide pressure point relief and better blood circulation in the skin, much like those used for hospital patients post-operation. The Talalay Latex Difference
It’s important to note that not all latex is created equal. The two most common manufacturing processes for creating latex mattresses are Talalay and Dunlop. Which is better?
The answer is that Talalay is undoubtedly the best manufacturing process for latex, in every way — and here’s why.
Talalay latex is both more consistent and more supple than Dunlop latex, which can end up being either uneven or a little stiff. Dunlop latex is often cheaper for this reason, and as such, the process is sometimes the preferred choice for manufacturers. But the little extra for Talalay goes a long way, and you will find that it makes all the difference. Even when some manufacturers try to save by opting for a blend of both Dunlop and Talalay, you can notice the difference.
Furthermore, the Talalay process creates a much more durable product. After a few years of sleeping on a mattress created using the Dunlop process, the mattress will start to lose its integrity, no longer giving your body the support it once had. By contrast, Talalay latex mattresses will keep its form for years longer. If you want proof of this, you can watch this video where two latex foam mattress cores — one Talalay and one Dunlop — were rolled out after four years in storage. The Talalay core sprang right back when tested, whereas the Dunlop core did not.
Both processes allow for a finished product that is 100% natural, but it is important to make sure that you check that your mattress is natural Dunlop or Talalay,rather than synthetic.

What if I am allergic to latex?
Allergies to the kind of latex we use is extremely rare, but if you are allergic your bedding and our cover is enough to make it not be an issue.
Can I return the mattress if I don't like it?
Your body takes time to adjust to a new mattress, we highly recommend that you give your body at least 2 - 3 nights to adjust to your new mattress. If you still want to return it, we will issue a full refund if you are still within the 100 night guarantee period.
What level firmness should I choose?

I previously had a king size flobed. In 2010 my spouse passed, so I did not need a large bed. I cut that mattress down to a queen size mattress and purchased a new mattress cover. After 22 years with the same mattress I recently both another queen size mattress. Obivously I have enjoyed my flobed.

Extremely comfortable mattress
This mattress is, without doubt, the most comfortable bed I've ever encountered. The V-zone allows for 'micro' adjustments to allow for individual body needs. One of the advantages over other latex mattresses, is the top of the cover being made from knit cotton - it allows you to still feel that lovely cushion of the talalay, whereas a cover of woven cotton puts a barrier between the mattress and yourself. We had some concern about our ability, physically, to put it together, but took frequent breaks and managed just fine. Not too bad for folks in their 80’s. We are very happy with this mattress.
Had to Buy Another One
Had one of your wonderful beds until a tree fell on our house that caused severe inside water damage including soaking our floBed. . We thought we had dried it out, but a month later we were getting very sick. The cause turned out to be our floBed filled with mold. We had to throw it away. Our homeowner's insurance company refused to replace our floBed even though we had replacement cost storm damage coverage. After fighting with the insurance company for more than a year we gave up and replaced our floBed at our own expense. It was so good to have it back. The price had doubled, but it was well worth it. There's do other bed this comfortable!

We purchased our first Select 9” latex mattress in 2002 with a wood slat frame. After 23 years we purchased a new Select 9” and placed it on our original wood slat frame. New mattress feels just as nice as our original. Looking forward to many more years of a great comfortable bed.

A STRONG Reco for all to buy this bed!! We first bought this bed about 22 years ago. Lasted extremely well, but started showing it's age this past year. So bought the same king bed again, but 3 layers of Latex, instead of the original 2 layers. As in our 70's yo now, need more cushioning & sitting height. We put it on our original bed slatted wood platform from you guys, that is showing no sag of slats at all, so no need for a new platform. Great wooden product! This first night on this new bed, was excellent!! So much so, that it was actually hard to get up this morning, as so comfy!!! Not kidding! The Latex layers we ordered, for reference, are 2 Extra Firm, & a Firm one on top. That was an excellent choice, as gave a firm bed, but gave away pressure areas perfectly, with side posture for the hips & shoulders=no pressure feelings at all! As a retired Chiropractor, am keenly aware of body posture mechanics, & this bed again, has proven to be the best bed ever slept on, no exaggeration!! And have no association with FloBeds, other than a customer. And, over the last 20 years of my career, I reco'd this bed to ALL my patients, & quite a few bought it too. Though pricey, ones body & health is worth it, as told them all!! They reported back to me, the ones that bought it, the same results of extreme satisfaction, as we have had! This is the best mattress I’ve ever owned! The customer service is impeccable. If you love sleeping on clouds, this is your new bed. Buyers beware of other mattress companies who sell Dunlop mattress for a cheaper price. Read everything on FloBeds website - it’s true, Dunlop latex is the Dollar General version of latex. Talalay latex is far superior to Dunlop latex and thank goodness FloBeds figured this out a long time ago! Thank you FloBeds for the best nights sleep in years!

Quality of life difference
Very happy with the second flobed that I have slept on in my life. I have had several mattresses in the last 7 yrs and none of them were any good. I suffer from advanced arthritis of the spine and getting a good night's sleep can be difficult. Since I began sleeping in my new flobed a week ago I sleep well and have much less pain!

This is the 2nd FloBeds mattress we have gotten and it's still one of the best mattresses we have gotten! We bought our first FloBed mattress 12 years ago. When it was time to upgrade to a king (2 years ago), we decided to try a different style of mattress from a different company (Nolah). Boy was that a mistake! The mattress never felt great and after a year or so, we realized some of our back and knee pains were due to the mattress. Even though it had only be 2 years, we decided to replace it with another FloBed mattress. The difference was like night and day! From the first night with the new FloBed mattress, our body aches started going away. The FloBed mattress is the perfect balance of soft, yet firm, even at the Extra Firm level. It's super comfortable through the whole night. After our disappointing experience with Nolah and repeat great experience with FloBeds, I think we've becoming lifetime customers of FloBed!

The concept is great
I do like the bed, however they shipped the wrong item originally. They did ship the correct item, but it came off of my free replacement for the first year. I have not ordered a new pad, for now I am using a mattress topper with this and seems to be fairly good.
Still soft
We exchanged to more firmer cheese,(that's what we call the bed parts) and it's still a bit soft!

Comfortable!
Good customer service. Simple instructions for assembly. Hard to tuck mattress cover and sheets under layers, because of weight. Not impressed with pillows at all. Threw away contents and used pillow covers. Wish wool mattress cover did not have so much excess material that wraps around the sides of the mattress, because it is harder to tuck under the heavy mattress layers. Would probably buy again.

The bed itself is awesome, but we have to unzip the bed every week and straighten the layers which is annoying. We have a split king. I would recommending figuring out a way to wrap the outside of the bed so the layers don't shift as much. Otherwise, great bed!

We are getting used to the different way the mattress feels. I think we both would probably go for one step firmer on each side but I'm not sure I want to get another piece at this point.

Easy to assemble. Very comfortable. Maybe a little to comfortable for my wife. She never snored before this bed now she sleeps like the dead. Ear plugs not included.

18 Months In ....
So we have 18 months thus far on our Flo-Bed Latex mattress and are relatively happy with our purchase. The bed is very comfortable, and we haven't had issues with body impressions like we've had in the past with traditional innerspring mattresses. What I really like about the Flo-Bed design is if I need to refresh the layers, I simply unzip the mattress and move the cores around to bring a fresh core to the top. Far easier than flipping a 200 pound innerspring mattress. The major downside to this type of bed is not being able to lay on one to test it out before purchasing. Their sleep guarantee is great, but @ 18 months, we are already on our 3rd core purchase because the bed has become too soft over time. My wife likes her bed softer so we started with the recommendations from the site which was one firm and 2 medium cores. However, she is now on 2 layers of firm and 1 layer of X-firm. I started with all X-firm and have moved to 2 X-firm and 1 XX-firm. Just keep this in mind when configuring your bed. I'm a bit disappointed that I've only owned the set for 18 months and I only have 1 core left @ $150. Next 2 cores will cost $300 if we need to continue firming up.....
What a difference!
I am a one month purchaser, I had back surgery about 5 years ago and was just wasn not able to sleep on my high end memory bed ? to firm and way to hot. Flobed can be firm but not like a memory foam bed and not hot. Got the Flobed in 6 boxes about 40-50# each. From removal of not so old memory foam bed to set up of the new Flobed was about 30-40 minutes. The Flobed comes in vacuum packed bags, open the bag and the latex expands to normal size in second with very little smell. Easy to install each section and get them in position. I purchased the V-zone top section with exchangeable sections. I am still playing with this top layer a little but have it almost dialed in. With my bad back, I have moved the X-firm section to just in front of the hip section ? supports my lower back. First night ? what a difference. Buying a bed on line sounds crazy but I would do it again in a blink.
I will never go back to a traditional mattress
I have enjoyed my flobed mattress for a number of years. When it was first delivered and I opened the boxes, I thought it was a giant puzzle that I had to figure out. Once I got the frame ready (by the way, I love not having a box mattress), I put the puzzle together and had a chance to lay on the bed. What a wonderful feeling to sink into such a comfortable bed! I will never go back to a traditional mattress!
A perfect fit
When I was looking at getting a new bed, I wanted to get a latex bed. I did a lot of research on the types of beds out there. I came upon the Flo bed. It was a perfect fit but I was a bit leery about ordering a bed from a website. But after more reading I decided to try it. I have to say when it was delivered, I was a bit overwhelmed. I live on the second floor. The guy who delivered it left 6 big boxes on my small porch. I had to drag them inside. But once I got all the pieces of the mattress together, I was so happy. The bed was comfortable and I had no problems setting it up. I have been sleeping comfortably on it ever since.
Ideal Sleeping Surface
I bought a floor sample on sale. My recollection is that it was made small enough to fit in my station wagon by using a sort of hyper vacuum cleaner. I drove home, dragged it in, and it expanded. It was a struggle to get the cover on and zip it up. Then it was just ideal! Now, I want a student bed frame and mattress for the youngest generation.
Our FloBed Story
Our daughter was little and always wanted to sleep with us. The mattress where my husband, myself and little Serena slept was too bouncy for us......too much activity....no one was getting enough sleep. So we ordered a King size FloBed. The day it arrived, in several different bags was an exciting one for us; we had a wood frame ready for it; we diligently followed the instructions.....my side a bit softer than my husband's. The cotton and wool cover/case smelled great, almost like something familiar. When it was ready we (all 3) fell asleep in it...a sweet nap......the first of many good sleeps. Our daughter is now 16 and she wanted a new room, we decided to let her have the master bedroom, we did not have the space for a king size bed anymore. I did not want to let go of our great FloBed so I called you guys hoping for ideas, suggestions on how to make it smaller. I was told I could cut the top layer (the only one that was in one piece) with a bread knife. What a great suggestion! Thank you! Also thank you for so many years of great sleeping.
A better bed
I am not good with dates, but about 10 years ago, I was searching the web for a better bed when I came across FloBeds. I liked the use of Talalay latex instead of the cheap foams in most beds. The website goes into great detail explaining why each of the quality materials was selected and how it differs from other materials. Such as why those fluffy pillow top mattresses are there just to sell you a product, not to provide long term comfort. Same with the explanation of the use of a wool layer and the European cover fabric. All this rolls up and is compressed into I believe was 3 or 4 boxes that allow for a customized bed. So UPS can deliver your bed in easy manageable boxes. I recently convinced my sister to get a latex FloBed after finding her back could not take sleeping on memory foam.

I really can't wait to get into bed tonight, I missed our mattress so much was I was away. I've been waiting until we've spent some time sleeping on our new mattress. WE LOVE IT!!! The last time we were mattress shopping we discovered we have very different preferences. I like soft and my husband prefers firmer. After trying a few in-store mattresses this go around, we couldn't agree on anything. FloBed seemed like a good solution. We did have some issues with the UPS delivery, but FloBeds stepped in and made sure we got everything. Once it Once we got all the boxes open, the directions ere easy to follow and it went together faster than I expected and with no trouble at all for 2 people. From the first night we've both been in love with our new mattress. We used to love going to hotels as we often felt the mattresses were better than our at home. Having just gotten back from 5 nights away... I can't wait to get into bed tonight.

My husband and I have enjoyed our Flobed for many years. We started with the combo air mattress and memory foam bed. Unfortunately after a few years, the air mattress died. However, your support staff was awesome and gave us a great deal on replacement latex foam rubber for the air portion of the bed. When we travel, we miss our comfortable bed!

Right now, the bed is still too firm. Dewey told me it needs time to loosen up and hopefully it does. I have only had the bed about a week so I think it is too early to tell.

My back hurts every morning
I wake up with a lower back pain and my body is stiff. I need to stretch every morning. This is in contrast to when I slept at my sister's house on a firmer mattress for 2 weeks and my back felt amazing.
Edges of bed too soft
When sitting at the end of the bed, the mattress is too soft and you have to be careful not to fall. My dogs have learn that the hard way!
Began falling apart after just one year
Our Aerus memory foam was fine after the first six months, but when I recently moved some latex layers around, I noticed the memory foam had numerous tears in it. The tears were about the same whether on the edge or in the middle, so I'm not really sure if they are the result of sitting on the edge of the bed, or rolling/folding the memory foam while changing latex layers, or what. These are deep tears that penetrate the entire foam layer in some cases, although I'm not sure the effects are noticeable during sleep (but I think about it every time I go to bed, which is stressful enough). We didn't move the mattress or mishandle it, so this seems to be a manufacturing/quality control issue. Anyway, I recommend against this memory foam and wish I would have opted for the convoluted latex comfort layer instead (which is made by FloBeds, unlike the Aerus memory foam).
FloBeds Mattress. Not a love story.
We bought a king size mattress about a year ago. Recently we began to wake up with sore backs. The indentation especially on the side my husband sleeps on (180 pounds) is about 2 inches now. It's quite dramatic when I roll over onto the middle where its still nice and firm and springy. My side not as indented (120 pounds) but sags under my hips and therefore wake up with sore back. Pretty disappointing purchase. Cannot recommend to other buyers. We did like the ability of mattress to be shipped in boxes and to have replacement pieces available. Guess we will have to purchase new top segments annually.
I stayed at a friends
I stayed at a friends house after a party, he had a terrible mattress. i was looking so forward getting home today and sleep in my own bed with the flobed matress. so glad we bought the second set, thats in our guest room now .
We Sent It Back
We tried to like the V zone mattress..however it had too much of a jello feel to suit my husband. I like a firmer support for my back, and I never found just the right combination.
