We tell customers every day- one size does not fit all. Make sure you get a mattress that fits your body. Here is what one customer had to say about his ability to have options: “I ordered a queen all latex mattress and fir-slat foundation from Flobeds, and received it this week. Customer service was outstanding. After having some questions answered on the phone, the packages showed up on time and well-packed. Assembly was not difficult, and I was pleased with the quality of workmanship in the foundation, latex, and cover. The latex has a very unique feel, very different from our past spring mattresses. The feel of the bed is difficult to describe; if you haven’t slept on a good latex bed before, you’ll have to experience it for yourself. The latex is very supportive, yet soft enough to feel VERY comfortable. “Pressure points” and poor support are clearly NOT problems with this mattress. I was tired of feuding with my wife over whether to have a firm or soft mattress. Flobeds bypassed that whole issue with its ability to custom make each side of the bed to our preferences (this was the biggest factor in our choosing Flobeds). The transition from side to side is very subtle, so you don’t abruptly “drop off” from the firm to soft side. It is also good to have the option of switching the firmness at any point. Thank you for making a quality product. It is nice to get a good night’s rest! By the way, your website was nicely designed and informative (I liked the sheep!).”
Sincerely, Keith and Tammy of Virginia

Set-up Was Easy Peasy
We recently received an email from our customer Pat saying, “…seeing how quickly our second Flobed was assembled.” In these photos, you see Pat setting up our Pine Slat Foundation and Deluxe Latex Mattress. Watch how easy it was for Pat:
Great job Pat! Thanks for continuing to depend on FloBeds for a better night’s sleep.
Many of our customers come to us looking for an all natural/ chemical free mattress option. We spend one-third of our lives asleep in our bedrooms, so here are some tips to create a healthy, non-toxic space:
1. Sleep on an all natural latex mattress from FloBeds. Our Organic Mattresses feature premium 100% Natural Talalay latex inside a luxurious organic euro knit cotton quilted to organic wool for a chemical free mattress.
2. Use solid wood furniture- like our Pine Slat foundation. Engineered to be put together with 8 wing-nuts, this strong foundation is constructed of solid wood sides and 3-1/2″ pine slats to provide a firm surface with air circulation for your latex mattress.
3. Use organic cotton sheets. Most cotton is grown using harmful pesticides and fertilizers, so make sure you go with an organic option.
As most customers know our FloBeds covers are not machine washable. That is why we carry the very popular St. Dormeir Wool Mattress Protector. Even people who do not own our beds call our store in search of the popular St. Dormeir Protector.
This amazing new Wool has been specially milled by a new European process to make it completely machine washable (and dryable) without shrinking. Typical wool pads need to be dry cleaned, or at best hand washed. St.Dormeir protectors have all the convenience of polyester fills, but you can now sleep on natural wool with all its famous characteristics.
Breathability keeps you cool in the summer, and cozy in the winter, and it lasts years longer than polyester. Wool is even naturally flame retardant (Polyester burns easily because it is made from hydrocarbons – just like other plastics, gasoline, etc.).
St.Dormeir Protectors are made with 100% Cotton Terry covers, filled with New Zealand Wool. This Cotton Terry is also used as the skirt that goes all around the sides of the protector, to fit completely over your mattress. It has full elastic all around the bottom edge for the best fit. They are extremely moisture-absorbent, and they are also very soft to sleep on.

Have the leading brand name mattresses companies invented a new way to build a bed? In a word, no. They are working hard to provide more of the same: bigger beds that require different sheets, sometimes even different headboards. Yet still they are using the same spring construction, with more layers polyurethane foam. Sometimes they add a layer of latex. But in order to keep profits up, you will usually find lots of poly-foam going by the name super-soft foam, upholstery layer, extra plush pillow top
Polyurethane foam, or poly-foam, is a petroleum product designed to imitate latex derived from the rubber tree (foam rubber). It weighs about one fourth the weight of latex, and lasts about one fourth as long (3-5 years instead of 20 years for Talatech Latex). Poly-foam is like a sponge. Because of its open cell structure, every time you move on your bed you are sucking into the bed dust, moisture, old skin, pollens and whatever is in the air. Wool and latex don’t do this.
Innersprings do not have the issues that polyurethane foam does. They can be gauged to different firmnesses. Probably the best thing going for them are they are incredibly inexpensive compared to natural Talalay latex, but do not last as long without losing their ability to support.
The FloBeds Talalay Latex Mattress
Natural Talalay latex is naturally conforming and supportive. The FloBed invention allows you to change the firmness on either side of your 100% natural latex mattress anytime for the 20 year life of the mattress.
We don’t use any poly-foam for added plushness in our beds. Instead, we use wool. Naturally better. Our covers are not as “fluffy” as the “high-profile” mattresses sold in many stores, just better. Our covers unzip, so you can easily hang your mattress-top in the sun. We suggest sunning your mattress-top a couple of times a year. Sunning will kill dust mites. Latex is dust mite resistant. If you suffer from severe allergies, with the top off, you can vacuum your mattress components to remove allergens. That, combined with your sunned mattress top will provide you with the cleanest and most comfortable mattress possible.
Here is a little thank you note we got from one of our customers Dr. Lago-
“As an orthopedic surgeon, I have seen many patients who have been adversely affected by an uncomfortable bed. The obliteration of pressure points has been a major result. Motion on either side of the bed goes un-noticed with FloBed. The old days when I awoke with a low backache are gone.”
FloBeds latex mattresses are adjustable for the 20 year life of the mattress.

Every FloBed Is Personalized For Each Sleeper
We are all different heights, weights, and have different sleeping preferences, so why do most mattress manufactures use the one size fits all mentality? Here at FloBeds we know that your partner might like to sleep on something similar to rock, while you prefer a cloud. That is why FloBeds latex mattresses can be customized. Ever wonder what the inside of a FloBed looks like? Go ahead and take a look under the hood:
What you are going to find is-
A mattress you can adjust: Top-to-Bottom, Side-to-Side & Head-to-Toe •Top-to-Bottom: Several adjustable layers of Latex customized for YOUR body •Side-to-Side: Each side personalized to accommodate both sleeper’s firmness needs •Head-to-Toe: Pain in your shoulders or hips? Need extra lumbar support? Are you a side or back sleeper? The vZone allows you to micro-tune customized “zones”
Admiral McRaven, a Navy Seal, gave a new meaning to making your bed every morning. He states that, “If you make your bed every morning, you will have accomplished the first task of the day. It will give you a small sense of pride, and it will encourage you to do another task, and another. And by the end of the day, that one task completed will have turned into many tasks completed.” Watch the video below to hear more on his philosophy: if you want to change the world, start off by making your bed.
And then there is Making Your FloBed… creating your personalized natural latex mattress. But that’s a little off the Admiral’s message.

Goldilocks Was Right
When the time comes to make a purchase that you will be using every day, you might start to feel a little overwhelmed. Often times mattress shopping includes heading to a crowded mattress shop, wondering if you are getting the best deal, fending off the aggressive salesmen, and spending a few minutes testing out a mattress that you hope you will like spending 8 hrs on every night. That does not have to be your shopping experience. At FloBeds we like to make sure you don’t have to deal with crowds or haggling. You can have a great mattress shopping experience from the comfort of your own home. Let us help you design a latex mattress to fit both your body and your partner’s.
Even Newsweek thinks you should try a FloBed. As mentioned in the Newsweek article, “…find a mattress you can adjust to the point of perfection. Flobeds (flobeds.com or 1-800-FLOBEDS) sells stackable latex panels that range from soft to superfirm. Stack two panels of different firmnesses for a truly customized sleep. And because each side of the mattress has separate panels, your partner can sleep on marble while you float on marshmallows.” T.E. Newsweek
