Recent custom builds from our shop
Real spec drawings from mattresses we’ve made. Every non-rectangular job starts with a template or a drawing like these — then we cut the latex and sew the cover to match.
Clipped-corner mattress — 74½″ × 30″ × 6″
A narrow bed with one foot corner cut on an angle to clear an obstruction. The same approach works for RV bunks and van beds that taper to follow a wall.
Curved-corner mattress — 76″ × 48″
A sweeping curve on one corner and a 10″ radius on the other, built to fit a shaped platform exactly. Boat berths and built-in nooks are handled the same way.

Go big
120″ × 96″ — built for an NBA player
Four feet wider than a California king and a foot longer, built for a 6′9″ pro. Same natural Talalay latex, same organic cotton and wool cover, same hands in Fort Bragg — with his firmness tuned Firm over Extra-Firm over SuperFirm. It shipped UPS in 13 cartons with a fir slat foundation. Tiny V-berth or a bed for a pro athlete, the process is the same: give us the size, and we build it.

Why natural latex is the best choice for a custom mattress
Small cabins get hot, humid and bumpy. Foam traps heat and moisture; springs rust and squeak. Talalay latex and organic wool are a better fit for life on the road and on the water.
Breathes in tight spaces
Talalay’s open-cell structure lets air move through the mattress, and the organic wool cover helps manage moisture — a real advantage in closed-up RVs and boat cabins.
No springs, no polyurethane foam
Nothing to rust, nothing to squeak on rough roads, and no off-gassing foam in a small enclosed space.
Firmness for each sleeper
Same layered system as our home mattresses: choose Soft to SuperFirm on each side, even on a custom shape.
No fire-retardant chemicals
Organic wool lets us meet federal fire standards naturally, without adding chemicals to the bed you sleep on.
How we build your custom size mattress
Measure your platform
Width, length and the thickness your space allows. Anything that isn’t a rectangle — V-berths, angled or curved shapes — needs a full-size template.
Call or send it to us
Talk it through with us on the phone, or send dimensions and photos. We’ll come back with a quote.
Pick your firmness
We help you choose the latex layers for each side, based on how you and your partner sleep.
We build & ship it
Your mattress is cut and assembled in Fort Bragg and shipped to your door, RV park, marina or storage lot. Custom orders are built and shipped in 3–4 weeks.
How to measure for a custom size mattress
Rectangular bed? Your measurements are all we need — measure the platform, not the old mattress, which sags and shrinks. Anything that isn’t a rectangle requires a full-size template so we can match it exactly. Not sure? Call us and we’ll walk you through it.
RVs, motorhomes, vans & campers
A width and B length of the platform, C any corner radius or clip, plus the maximum thickness before you hit cabinets, windows or the slide-out.
Boat V-berths
Hulls curve, so V-berths and any other non-rectangular shape require a full-size template. Lay kraft paper or cardboard on the berth, trace the edge, mark hatches and the centerline, and mail or photograph it with a tape measure in frame.

Custom size mattress FAQ
Can you make a mattress in any size?
+
Yes. We build custom size mattresses to any width, length and thickness — from small bunks and V-berths up to the 120″ × 96″ bed we built for an NBA player. Rectangles just need your measurements; anything with angles, curves or cutouts needs a full-size template.
Can you make an extra-long or oversized mattress?
+
Yes. Tall sleepers often need more length than a California king’s 84 inches, and families often want a bed wider than a king. We build extra-long, oversized and custom king sizes in the same natural Talalay latex as all our mattresses.
Can you make a custom size mattress for my RV or motorhome?
+
Yes. We build RV and motorhome mattresses to your exact platform measurements — RV short queen, RV king, short king, Olympic queen, three-quarter, bunk and over-cab sizes, plus rounded or clipped corners. Call us with your measurements for a quote.
Will it fit my Class A, Class C, fifth wheel or travel trailer?
+
Yes. Because every mattress is built to your measurements, the make and model don’t matter — Airstream, Winnebago, Thor, Jayco, Tiffin, Newmar, Grand Design and any other rig. Measure the platform and we’ll match it.
What size is an RV short queen mattress?
+
An RV short queen is typically 60 inches by 74 or 75 inches — about five inches shorter than a standard queen. Sizes vary between manufacturers, so measure your platform; we build to the exact numbers.
Do I need to send a template?
+
Only if your bed isn’t a rectangle. For rectangular RV, van and camper mattresses, width, length and thickness are enough. Anything with angles, curves or cutouts — V-berths, tapered van beds, clipped corners — requires a full-size template so we can match it exactly.
How do I make a template for my boat’s V-berth?
+
Tape kraft paper or thin cardboard over the berth, trace the outer edge, mark the centerline, hatches and any filler pieces, and label the head end. Send it to us or photograph it flat with a tape measure in the shot.
Can I still choose firmness on a custom size mattress?
+
Yes. Custom mattresses use the same layered Talalay latex system as our standard beds, so each side can be set from Soft to SuperFirm.
Is latex a good choice for an RV or a humid boat cabin?
+
Talalay latex breathes far better than dense foam, and our organic wool cover helps manage moisture. There are no springs to rust or squeak on the road.
How long does a custom mattress take?
+
Custom mattresses are built by hand and shipped in 3–4 weeks from when we have your final measurements or template.
Can I return a custom size mattress?
+
Custom size mattresses are built just for you, so they can’t be returned. But if your custom mattress is 6 inches deep or more, our Goldilocks Guarantee still applies: we’ll change your firmness anytime during the 20-year life of your mattress. That’s why we take the time on the phone to get the size and firmness right the first time.
Do you ship to RV parks, marinas and storage lots?
+
Yes — we ship anywhere a UPS truck will deliver, including RV parks, marinas, storage lots and your home. Your custom mattress arrives in layers, so it fits through tight RV and boat doorways and is easy to assemble on site. We’ve even shipped a 120″ × 96″ mattress UPS — in 13 cartons.
