Having a hard time falling asleep? Don’t worry you are not alone! This time of year is difficult as we are transitioning from summer into fall. Weather will be changing soon, children are going back to school, and before you know it Thanksgiving will be upon us. Life can get hectic, but it is important to take time out of your day to slow down. An easy way to wind down after a long day is bedtime yoga.
“Mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, stress, and insomnia are among the most common reasons for individuals to seek treatment with complementary therapies such as yoga. Yoga encourages one to relax, slow the breath and focus on the present, shifting the balance from the sympathetic nervous system and the flight-or-fight response to the parasympathetic system and the relaxation response.”
In the final episode of our mini-series, Lea Laase describes her experience working with the FloBeds staff. Lea found that her husband’s side of the mattress was perfect but her side needed some adjustments. So she called the FloBeds team and was told over the phone what changes she could make to start sleeping comfortably. The great thing about purchasing a FloBed is we are only one call away. Our team is here to support you in your quest for a better night’s sleep.
Finding a new mattress can be an arduous task. We all know the drill- you enter a mattress store, work with a pushy salesman and leave with a mattress you don’t want.
Here at FloBeds we like to do things a little differently. We educate customers about our latex mattresses, find the one that fits them best, guarantee a 100-night test rest and work with them to make any changes they may need.
Over the next few weeks, we will release videos about one customer’s experience with FloBeds. Many customers call into our shop or stop by and have similar stories to the one Lea Laase’s is sharing in the video below:
The Sleep Revolution, written by Arianna Huffington, is a great read for anyone looking to be more successful in life. As she explains in the interview video below, there are many reasons we need to reevaluate the importance of sleep in our lives.
When you are well rested you are less likely to dwell on mistakes and more mentally capable of moving forward.
Lack of sleep has been linked to obesity, diabetes, cancer, hypertension, and Alzheimer’s.
Insufficient sleep leads suppressed immune system and sickness.
We stopped valuing sleep during the first industrial revolution. Society believed humans could work like machines, but the truth is we cannot. Tink about the role sleep plays in your life and where if falls on your priority list. It’s time to move sleep closer to the top of that list.
FloBeds has been using UPS to send our beds across the U.S. for years. The FloBeds Sleep System comes via UPS ready to place in your room and sleep. Just 8 wing-nuts and a zipper is all the assembly required. Our Smart Packaging saves natural resources (cardboard/trees and fuel). The FloBeds Manufacturer Direct to you business model further saves fuel and lessens your carbon footprint. A FloBeds Mattress & Foundation comes in 4 Cartons with waist high handles.
Do you ever feel fatigued and like you can’t fix it? No matter how busy you are you can have more energy. Take a look at your daily routine and find the hidden things that are taking up too much energy. In the video below Dr. Holly Phillips explains how her book can guide you through an energy-boosting plan. Some of her tips to get your life back on track:
-Complete and hourly body check to see how you are sitting, are your teeth clenched, is there tension in a specific part of your body, etc.
-Keep a fatigue diary to understand how your body changes throughout the day
Many people who work in offices sit at desks for 8 hours! This can cause back pain. The yoga instructor featured in the video below is named Jake and he says, “Back pain is an epidemic in America. And the pain is accentuated by our desk culture and the use of mobile devices.” (Yoga With Jake: 10-Minute Yoga Routine to Ease Back Pain) So if Jake was describing you, or if you are looking for a good stretch take a look at the video below.

Owning a business is not an easy task, and it is not for everyone. Dave, the owner of FloBeds, has been in business for over 35 years. It all began one summer while he was attending Stanford in Palo Alto. In 1971 he entered the specialty sleep business in Palo Alto, California as a means to pay for college. After 4 years of political science and waterbeds, Dave opened a second retail store. Since then his business has changed and adapted multiple times.
