I bought my first Flobed latex mattress back in 2001 based on the advice of a friend. It was a queen size model and Flobeds helped me get the cores firmness correct. I have been sleeping soundly ever since. It has held up very, very well and I love it.
Recently we decided to move up to larger home and we are no purchasing a King sized bed to accommodate the cats that love to join us in the bed. Its amazing how much room a cat can take up.
Our guests will now be sleeping well on our old queen sized latex mattress in the guest room. Hopefully they wont overstay just to sleep in the bed. :-)

It's been about 6 months since we purchased our mattress
and I can't stress enough how much of a difference it has
made. I'm a big guy (6'6 about 275lbs) and this mattress
is like a dream compared to our innerspring mattress we
replaced. It has completely ruined me for hotels and other
travel because where I used to LOVE trying out different

After I fell out of the tree last year I had xrays and the doctor said there was nothing wrong, but I started to get a stiff, painful neck, and it just got worse and worse. I went to the chiropractor and he could do nothing for it, the doctor had already said there was nothing wrong, neck massages almost daily helped for just a few hours. It reached the point where I could not turn my head but had to turn my entire upper body to see to the side. I had a good pillow and I tried others both home and away but in the morning the stiffness and pain was at its maximum. So I heard the ad for a FloBed pillow on sale. It was a short trip to the store, I liked the sheep on the cover, I liked the idea that the interior material was enclosed by a zipper and could be removed to any thickness I desired. I made the purchase. I was impressed by the weight of the pillow; it was dense but gave just the right amount of support. I did not remove anything, I just plopped my head down on that pillow and when I woke in the morning the normal pain was reduced by 50%. After two more nights it was virtually gone and continues to be at a very low level of discomfort for over a month now. I have tried virtually every type of bed there is. Then I bought a Flobed. I have NEVER slept better. Before Flobeds, though, I did try a latex bed from SleepEZ (hoping to save some $$$). I returned it, dissatisfied with the quality and comfort. Biting the bullet, I decided to put my $$$ where my mouth is and try the Flobed. As I said, the best sleep I've ever had. Today, I just ordered a second Flobed for my wife. We sleep on 2 twin longs on a king frame. She thought she wanted a Serta extra comfy last January, so I shelled out $1400!! She grew to hate it; said it hurt her back. She started napping on my Flobed and loved it. She asked for her own Flobed which I gladly ordered because I know how much she loves mine. One suggestion, go with the website's comfort recommendation calculator. It was spot on for me.
You sleep a 1/3 of your life away, right? Don't short-change yourself and try to save a few bucks like I did. Go first class. Go Flobeds!!
OUTSTANDING ! ! ! I am embarrassed that I even tried to talk Dewey down on the price! After extensive research of the Latex mattress industry including a side by side comparison and a search for company complaints, I narrowed my choices to just 3. Flobeds was the most expensive of my choices by about $800.00. The cheapest choice actually looked cheap. The craftsmanship was obviously inferior to the Flobed. I called Dave, I played cat & mouse with him and finally told him I had a couple other calls to make before I parted with my money. I called my second choice and was handed over to somebody up top. He eventually took my order ( my mistake). It was an un-split (solid layers) design 10 inch king bed with a 6 inch thick Dunlop core and two 2 inch thick comfort layers of talalay. When it arrived the box was really beat up. I was un happy with the freight company professionalism. However, I soon found out why the box was so tattered. Imagine a king size mattress in a box and you and your spouse trying to get it into the house. It will only fit through the door diagonally. Once in the living room we took it out of the box because it was so dirty. BIG PROBLEM NOW! My 140 lb wife and I about killed ourselves moving it down the hallway to the bedroom. Picture yourself trying to move a 200 lb dead man (dead weight) you MIGHT be blessed with the heath required to do this. Now picture yourself trying to move a 200 lb dead man that is bulkier, say the size of a KING MATTRESS ! ! ! and, wait for it . . . . . . . . . . . . WITH NO BONES ! ! ! THERS IS NOTHING TO GRAB ONTO! For the first few nights both of our backs hurt, probably because of the exhausting workout just getting it ready to sleep on. We imagined ourselves occasionally re-arranging the bedroom and worse yet, moving, and concluded this was not the bed for us. We sent it back for a full refund minus $300 for the foundation (you can not return them) and ordered a Flobed. The Flobed arrived in several small and easy to manage boxes and without damage. NO B.S. it was easy to set up and the quality is "TOP OF THE LINE"! Plus you can adjust the layers to suit your comfort needs. (we already have). HERE IS A VERY INTERSTING FACT: We have been married for 29 years and we have both always been side sleepers. However, we are finding ourselves sleeping on our backs more often and without pain. I personally do not think there is a better Latex bed on the planet!
We have had our FloBed 3 years now and I have to say, it is the best $3,000 I ever spent! I got the top-of-the-line zone bed with the memory foam topper since I have fibromyalgia. Before I could not stay in bed past 4am. Now, I can sleep till 9am if my kids will let me. My side was a little too soft, so I switched a layer with my husband and both of us think it is just right. I researched all types of beds before settling on this one and I have not been disappointed. I truly recommend this bed to anyone and everyone.

I am writing to let you know that my husband and I sleep on a Duxiana mattress. I decided to purchase a high quality, healthy mattress for our teenage son. He and I went to the Duxiana store together, but I did not want to spend quite that much money on his mattress. I had heard about your Flobeds natural talalay mattresses from my sister and decided to purchase one for my son. He has the comfiest bed in our home. His bed is by far cozier and more comfortable than mine with the Duxiana mattress. In fact, I recently purchased a talalay topper from Flobeds to put on top of my Duxiana to make it more comfortable. It has helped, but the full flobeds mattress is still more comfortable than my own.

About 5 years ago I had back aches almost all the time because of my work as a Nursing Assistant at the area hospital. My daughter had gotten a FloBed, and for several years encouraged me to buy one. After a lot of thought, and more pain, I decided to get one. It came in really small boxes compared to what I had expected. I took them out and laid them on the bed in the order I thought I would like, with firm and soft on the side I sleep on the most. Almost immediately I noticed I was sleeping longer through the night, not waking up every time I had to turn over because of my pains. After about a year, I decided to change my side of the bed to firm with medium on top. That is when I really felt the best relief. Now I don't have those back aches, and other joint pains from sleeping on those metal coils. I am able to get a really good rest. I am so glad I got that bed, I wish I had gotten it years sooner. If I had ordered one after I first heard my daughter rave about hers, I would have been a lot happier a few years sooner. I really do love my bed.

It has been about 6 weeks now since I purchased a Flobeds Zone-on-Point Talalay latex mattress in Full/Std size for my mother. Time to report.
First, shipping. I ordered the mattress by telephone on a Saturday, and the mattress arrived Fedex about 9 days later on a Monday. So only 5 business days from CA to PA. Not bad at all. I was impressed by how fast my order was processed and shipped. The Full/Std mattress arrived in two boxes. Both were in excellent shape, well-taped, and had green stickers saying what was in each. The total shipping weight was about 85 lbs. One box was relatively light; one was heavy and I used a dolly to move it from living room to bedroom.
Second, unpacking. When I opened the first box, the first thing I lifted out looked like a very large latex pillow double-wrapped in thick plastic. Except it weighed about 20 lbs. Turns out it was a vacuum-packed piece of latex. Since the layers are split that means I was sent seven of these latex "pillows", the seventh being the convoluted egg-crate layer that is half as thick as the other layers but is not split. For my 105 lb Mom what was recommended by Flobeds' online "Comfort Advisor" was (Zone / Soft / Medium), so the other six "pillows' were two each of those. I should explain that the Zone is really just another layer of Soft but it includes a 12"-14" zone of Medium in the area where your ribcage rests. Thus your pointy and heavier hips and elbows/shoulders sink into the soft part while your ribcage is held up by the (medium) zone, keeping your spine in alignment. At least I think that's the theory. Also in the boxes was a set of instructions (available online in PDF at http://www.flobeds.com/pdf/LatexOwnersInstructions.pdf) and the mattress case. Oh yeah, and a real latex pillow and set of 300 TC DreamFit sheets I ordered too.
Third, putting it together. The first thing you do is put the empty mattress case on the foundation. (I had previously bought a SmartBase steel foundation). I had read some negative comments about the mattress cases some people had received from other sellers, e.g., that the case was hard and had a plastic feeling. The case from Flobeds couldn't be any more different. It is extremely soft, so soft one could almost sleep directly on the mattress case. The top of the mattress case zips completely off. I did that, laid the rest of the case on the foundation, and pulled its sides down as instructed. That is, one practically pulls the case inside-out so that one can simply lay the latex pieces on a flat surface. The next step is laying the latex. I started with one of the vacuum-packed "pillows" of Medium. It's way cool when you open them - it's like you've pulled the handle on an inflatable life raft. I got my first good look at the Talalay latex. It's beautiful looking, no discoloration or crumbling, and so soft. I couldn't resist squeezing it and thinking of that old "Please don't squeeze the Charmin" commercial. Laying down layers went very quickly. I made both sides (Zone / Soft / Medium), put the convoluted layer on top, then pulled the sides of the mattress case up and zipped its top back on, being careful to push in the flap that protects the latex from the zipper. Voila, instant mattress. Then I put my Mom's Martha Stewart mattress cover on the mattress case to protect it, followed by the sheets and spread. Getting the oversized sheets and the damn dust ruffle on correctly was actually harder than putting the mattress together. Done! Took about 30 minutes.
Fourth, impressions. After the first night my Mom said she thought the mattress was too soft. So I switched the layers around from (Zone / Soft / Medium) to (Medium / Zone / Soft). Big difference. My Mom slept on this configuration for 2-3 weeks without complaint. But I pressed her for her impressions. She hinted that maybe it was still just a little too soft. So I made one side of the bed as firm as could be with the layers I had: (Medium / Medium / Zone). Whoops, too firm. So I switched to (Zone / Medium / Medium). Just right! For the past month my Mom has been sleeping on that configuration w/o any complaints. However, I was bothered by the fact that this leaves the other side of the bed as (Zone / Soft / Soft) - essentially all soft. So I decided to take advantage of Flobeds much-praised firmness guarantee. The most important thing is that my Mom is sleeping comfortably. She never wakes up with knee or hip pain like she did on her old mattress. I give Flobeds mattresses a big thumbs up.

This is my 2nd FloBed. I have had a Cal King for several years in the U.S. and when I moved to Saba (Netherland Antilles) the thing I missed most was a good nights sleep. The bed that came with the cottage was old and was poorly constructed. I have sufferred for the past year and finally bit the bullet and had one shipped to the island. Because of the humidity and the dampness here the Latex mattress is the best fit to avoid mildew and that musty odor all our stuff gets here on our mountain island in the clouds. My first good nights sleep in a long time and looking forward to many more.

Dewey,As I stated when I made the trip up to Fort Bragg to check out your beds again after 8 years of traveling. Been to Southern Cal. where they made the flipper Latex beds, soft, to medium to extra firm. When we went to Phoenix we checked out the latex bed makers there! I all ways came home to my Simmons and thought about what I needed! This was eight years of thinking, my old bed was killing my back and neck now! I had to do something! I must have bough a pillow a year.(a very nice collection)I remember seeing that memory foam block in San Diego, smash under that bedpost. It made up my mind. It never filled up with air any more! No, more spring to it! Latex was the only way to go! What does a latex bed feel like? A very stiff jello bed. That is the interesting part. I love it! It is a warm feeling a not hot! I just went on vacation, my back and neck problems came back over night! Thanks for making me hostage to my FloBed! I am being held hostage to my FloBed! Never thought this would happen. My son and his wife, just looked at me when I made them stop and checked out the other latex bed stores. I came home and bought the FloBed after 8 years. I waited way too long. My wife and I have been sleeping on a king size latex FloBed since 2003. Over the years, I have meant to write to tell you how much we LOVE our FloBed, but I never got around to it. I just happened to receive a marketing email from FloBeds, and now I am taking the time to tell you about our FloBed experience (finally! five years later!).======Prior to having our FloBed we had a traditional, high-end mattress. We are both in good physical shape and we were always of the belief that a quality, firm mattress was the proper bed to have. But when we wanted a new bed for our new home we did lots of research and decided to give FloBeds a try. When we received our FloBed (firm on my side and medium on her side) we were very skeptical because the foam pieces seemed way too soft to provide the firmness we were accustomed to. The FloBed took some adjusting to for the first couple of weeks because whichever position you sleep in, the FloBed gives you the feeling that you are floating on total, gentle support.=====On our old traditional mattress my lower back would develop a dull ache if I "slept in" too long on weekends. But I have never experienced anything but blissful sleep on our FloBed. When we travel and have to stay anywhere for an extended period, one of us usually comments how much we miss our bed. And it is always the greatest feeling to get into our FloBed after being away from home for a while.=====If the topic of mattresses ever comes up with our friends or family we always rave about our latex FloBed.=====On a slightly negative note, we do find that the FloBed mattress cover eventually develops indentations that are difficult to get rid of. All traditional mattresses develop the same problem. But what is nice about the FloBed is that the mattress cover can be completely unzipped and shaken out, which helps to alleviate the indentations. We might even replace the mattress cover within another year or two. But let me be clear -- the latex foam pieces have never developed indentations and have remained 100 percent the same since the day we got our bed. In fact, the bed has held up quite well even through an out-of-state move.=====If you are doing your research about mattresses, you owe it to yourself to try a latex FloBed. It will provide an immeasurable quality of life difference!

Okay, I will be completely honest about my doubts. I can't believe that I just bought a mattress that I had never slept on AND spent that much on an ONLINE purchase! Well, thank the Lord I did! WOW! I recieved the bed today and bartered with my husband that if he helped me get it together and gave me ONE hour of sleep then he and my 8yo could go to the movies tonight and I would keep watch of our crazy 2yo. I just woke up from 1 hour of bliss! I will say I had my doubts about my firmness choice, but since you have such a great exchange program and the bed is so easy to swap layers in, I decided not to worry. WOW! I bought med on 2 layers of xtra firm. It is wonderful! It feels very soft to sleep in because I am less than petite, but is wonderfully supportive. I threw my low back out 2 days before Christmas and luckily found a great chiropractor to help me out over the past week. I am standing straight, but very sore across my sacral area and hips. I have been rotating beds throughout the house nightly to try to sleep. YOUR BED IS WONDERFUL!! I also bought a "soft" latex pillow. When I felt it I was certain it would be too soft to give me any support,but I was wrong. I am truly amazed! It was perfect for my side/stomache/back sleep rotation. I can say, as a registered nurse and back pain sufferer, your bed exceeded my expectations for pressure point relief! I am so delighted. I am looking forward to going to bed tonight for the first time in years.

Dear Dave... It has been almost two years since I purchased a FloBed from you for my boyfriend's place. I was moving in with him at the time and wanted a great bed. He resisted at first but immediately realized how wonderful the bed was.Recently I decided to get a place closer to work to cut down on my commute during the week. I see that one of my two "companion humans" wrote a testimonial for our FloBed, but my other "pet" human keeps forgetting, so it is up to I, the intrepid feline of the family to rave about this new mattress. I love it!!!!!I cannot describe the incredible nights' sleep I now get since we got our FloBed. Where sleeping with the male of the pair used to involve me having to move off of the bed every 30 minutes or so, I now can spend the night only having to move off or over once or twice- he is able to sleep comfortably without excess tossing and turning. He says that the level of support,firmness, and comfort is something he never thought he would find, and he raves about the fact that he does not have a nagging backache anymore. That makes me a happy kitty (and a well rested kitty), indeed!! I thought I'd never find a bed that was comfortable. Either years ago, my husband and I purchased what seemed like the perfect bed...at least it seemed perfect in the showroom. First I tried it, then my husband tried it. We both loved it. But when we had it delivered, and we both lay down on it at the same time, it was a disaster. I woke up every time he rolled over. That bed lasted one month and was relegated to our guest room. Our next bed also seemed perfect in the showroom. (We got wise: this time we both lay on it at the same time.) But that bed turned out to be too hard for me. Over the last eight years, I struggled with it, trying to fix the problem with a variety of mattress toppers. The foam ones didn't really work, and the air one sprang a leak after about six months, so I had to keep blowing it back up every night. Finally, in desperation, we began to shop for a new bed. The problem was that my husband liked the harder ones and I liked the softer ones. By chance, I stumbled upon the FloBeds web site. I was fascinated by the idea of being able to design my own mattress with a different hardness on each side. But ordering a mattress from an Internet company? So we checked out FloBeds with the Better Business Bureau, and when they checked out fine, we took a leap of faith and ordered a latex mattress and boxspring from them over the phone. To make a long story short, we are thrilled. My side is softer, my husband's is harder; he can roll over and not wake me up. Our backaches are gone. My bed - firm over medium Natural Talalay Latex, slat foundation. I have had the bed for about 3 months now and love it. Assembly was easy. The foundation is solid. I love the option of different height legs, since I hate high beds!!! I am from Europe and missed my european bed. The usual American coil mattress beds seem to be from the last century. Not only do they look prehistoric, they feel like it too!I was always too hot on other mattresses; not on this one. Totally love this bed.

We started using our 100% Talalay Mattress two days ago. The difference in feel versus our old mattress was noticed by both my wife and me. I am not a great sleeper and have noticed a lott of tossing and turning during the night. The last two nights I still wake up but go right back to sleep and have not tossed or turned at all. It is very easy to find a comfortable position. Clearly I am waking up much more rested.The FloBed experience of purchasing on the WEB was scary at first but the service was excellent, putting the mattress together was excellent and the advice on firmness right on.

We have had our queen latex mattress for 1 and a half years now, and we still wake up most mornings commenting about how glad we are to have purchased it. I used to have alot of pain in my shoulders - I thought it was stress, but I guess it was the coil mattress, because it is gone.We have not had any problem with the mattress being too hot; we bought the latex top (vs. memory foam) and the wool and cotton cover. Since we set it up we have not felt the need to change a thing, and we used the firmness selector on your site. We just wanted to give you an update and to thank you so much for your high quality product.

I ordered a queen all-latex mattress and fir-slat foundation from Flobeds, and recieved it this week. Customer service was outstanding. After having some questions answered on the phone, the packages showed up on time and well-packed. Assembly was not difficult, and I was pleased with the quality of workmanship in the foundation, latex, and cover. The latex has a very unique feel, very different from our past spring mattresses. The feel of the bed is difficult to describe; if you haven't slept on a good latex bed before, you'll have to experience it for yourself. The latex is very supportive, yet soft enough to feel VERY comfortable. "Pressure points" and poor support are clearly NOT problems with this mattress. I was tired of feuding with my wife over whether to have a firm or soft mattress. Flobeds bypassed that whole issue with its ability to custom make each side of the bed to our preferences (this was the biggest factor in our choosing Flobeds). The transition from side to side is very subtle, so you don't abruptly "drop off" from the firm to soft side. It is also good to have the option of switching the firmness at any point. Thank you for making a quality product. It is nice to get a good night's rest! By the way, your website was nicely designed and informative (I liked the sheep!). It's been 1 week since I received my FloBed 100% Natural Latex bed. I was a little nervous at first, thinking that it would be harder than I anticipated, and that I might have to return some panels for softer ones. I have 2 each med., firm, xfirm for my queen size mattress.To my surprise, I woke up the next morning in the same position I went to sleep in, and I haven't had any uncomfortable nights. The support is great, and I have no more pressure point pain. Now I can hardly wait to go to hit the mattress each night.Another huge benefit is the hypoallergenic and antimicrobal nature of the mattress. I no longer have the horrible allergic rhinitis (and all that goes with it) that I had with my old mattress. This is important to me since I have severe sleep apnea and use CPAP. Joseph and I wanted to write and tell you how pleased we have been with the customer service that we have received from Flobeds.
You and your staff were great in straightening out the problem with our receipt of a wrong size core and the associated shipping delays. After we received the correct size cores, they have assisted us in adjusting the core firmnesses.
It is not often that we find a Company that the staff consistently treats customers, as you would want to be treated. Everyone has been gracious, as well as knowledgeable about your product.
Joseph and I looked and looked to the point of total frustration to find a mattress to fulfill our need of dual firmness. We thought the we would have to settle for something in between until Joseph found your site on the internet. I have slept on a waterbed for the past 30 years and was used to a very soft and flexible mattress. I am pleased that your mattress conforms to my body shape and I do not feel any “pressure points”. Joseph has a bad back, takes medication on a daily basis and requires a very firm bed. He is delighted that your mattress gives him the kind of support that helps his back feel pain-free, but without the harshness of a 'hard' mattress.
Your Flobed is constructed so that we can have the firmness we each need in the same mattress, and we can adjust the firmness until it works best for each us The Flobed solution is a great invention.

It's hard to believe that we've had our latex King bed for 18 months now! It's such a wonderful bed that when we go on vacation we can't wait to get back home to our wonderful comfy bed!! We wish all the hotels and B&Bs knew about your fabulous mattresses.
OK, we could gush forever...but we were wondering if you guys make sofa bed mattresses? We have a Queen sofa bed with a horribly uncomfortable spring mattress that we'd LOVE to replace with latex. Is that possible?

Well, I think its been about five months now that we have had the Flobed -- a king-size with latex cores, memory foam, and wool topper. I am sorry I haven't written earlier.
You have not solicited my comments, but I feel obligated to write. It is, to me, a great pleasure when I spend my dollars on a product and feel I have received a full measure in return. In this case, I took a chance on a company I located through the internet, spent a considerable amount on a bed I had no opportunity to try out in person, and bypassed all the "safe" buying opportunities of the local market. I couldn't be happier! I believe we have received our money's worth and more.
It is literally a pleasure each night that I go to sleep on our new bed! The feeling is like no other. And, believe me, I know. I travel extensively (I am an airline pilot) and sleep in beds from Europe to California. None come close to the comfort and --- well, "welcoming" feeling of the Flobed.
Believe it or not, as much as I like our new bed, I do believe my wife likes it even more!

I LOVE my bed! During the week that I had the replacement cores you sent, I compared sleeping on the originals to sleeping on the replacements. While at first I thought that the replacements were better, in the end I decided to stick with the originals. I can think of

I have researched the different "sleeping systems" for months and decided on the European memory foam matress. I ordered the mattress by phone, and the lady who helped me was personable and efficient and professional. As promised the mattress arrived the next day.
The very first night we slept on it, we woke up with no stiffness, no hip pains, and an added plus, my husband has not snored! Or, maybe I sleep so much better, I don't hear him....

We dearly love our new bed, but will need to soften up Sam's side. Even at his size, the firm over extra firm makes a pretty hard mattress. He would like to try a medium over firm base.
